'No! Not Oklahoma City *itself*!'

I didn't see a "quotes" thread here. So I thought I'd start one for people who can't get certain lines out of their heads :)

LOL @ that quote. Whenever I see the city Tulsa in print, I hear Cary Grant just relishing the word in this movie.

The delivery of that line was so pitch-perfect! That it came from an English born actor amazed me. The cultural context that made it so funny couldn't have been better handled by any American actor. Grant was one of a kind.

I know. I can hear the laugh in his his voice when he says "Tulsa," knowing just how much his soon-to-be ex loves the glitz and glamor of Manhattan life.No offense to Oklahomans intended, but there is only one Manhattan, and boy, do I miss it.

I'm from Tulsa, but I go to school in Norman, which is just south of Oklahoma city. This line had me rolling on the floor! Even though they are the two largest cities in the state, there is nothing to do! (Although Tulsa in the 20's was a major metropolitan city because of the oil boom, it was no longer big by the 30s).

LOL one of my faves is Irene dunne speaking of Dixie...."i guess it was easier for her to change her name , than for her whole family to change theirs " HAHAHAHAHAH, tooo funny !!!

There were many great lines, but one of my favorites came from Bellamy:

"Glad you dropped up!"

I guess it's a popular one, 'cause I was going to say my favorite line in the whole movie was the "Tulsa" bit, but it looks like I'm a little late to the party!

I agree, the inflection and laughter in his voice when he says "Tulsa" is simply one of the best examples of perfect comedic timing I have ever come across.

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

"Excuse me, you're sitting on my prospectus!"

How about Irene Dunne is crashing the Vance's party as Grant's "sister," and while in her ditzy character she tells his girlfriend, "I've seen your picture in the paper and wondered what you looked like!"

The way that that flies over her head is so cute.

I really love the "Tulsa" bit, but I have to say my personal favorite is when Dan gets his "kiss" and exclaims:

'I'M SO HAPPY, I COULD EAT 3 STEAKS!"

This is one of my all time favorite movies!!
