Filmed in Missouri?

I think the commenters who make this claim are mistaken. Hollywood movies were not taken on location till after World War II. The film looks like it was made at MGM, but the art direction is so good (as always at that great studio), including the painted backdrop at the end, it really makes no difference.

Very very touching. Great Lionel Barrymore. Among my favorite dog movies.
