A Gem of a movie...
I don't understand why it is rated a 6. It deserves to be much higher! :)

I also enjoyed this film thoroughly. catching it on TCM late night 7/22/08. However, I found the print shown to be subpar, which is rather unusual for the average M*G*M prints TCM shows. The audio had loud hissing and some type of grinding sound, it was almost unbearable in parts of the film. Otherwise, I was so happy to see this film I'd never seen by the marvellous Miss Russell. I agree it deserves a much higher score.

I don't remember the hissing or grinding sounds, BooBooKitty but then I have a tendency to be mesmerized by a movie and don't notice anything but the dialogue. Hopefully more people will be willing to watch and vote favorably for it.

I spoke with my mother (also a Roz fan) and she also said the audio was fine (she Dvr'd it) she sent me a copy and lo' and behold the audio was fine. It must have been on my end, because this has happened before. I have Cox digital cable (boo hiss!). BTW you're welcome, and thanks for responding to my response of your post.
