Inspiration for Night of the Living Dead

When they were shooting down the people with the walking sickness. Wonder if George A. Romero got some ideas from it?

What are they doing? Why do they come here?
Some kind of instinct, memory, what they used to do.

Not having read the book or seen the movie; what's the scoop RE: the 'walking sickness'?

It was caused by all the poison gasses used in the Next War, which went from 1936 to 1967, that made people braindead and walk around like zombies, minus the gore but very contagious.

Were the 'zombies' violent or dangerous?

reply

No but they just spread the disease. There was no gore or cannibalism but they spread their sickness to normal people very easily.

Also there were other "Zombie" films in the 30s, although those were based on the Voodoo-type zombies....

I had the thought too, Jakealope.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, and / or doesn't.
