Vampire Bats Allegedly Seen in 1954 re-issue

Per this blog, the missing scene with the vampire bats was in the cut of the film shown in US theaters for the 1954 re-issue:

The writer of the blog cites some circumstantial evidence to support his own memory of seeing the scene in 1954.

Considering that the Tarzan films were big internationally, not just in the US, it's plausible that MGM might have retained and shown a version with the vampire bats when they sent the film overseas.

It also seems plausible that there might be a print of this version still around in an MGM vault, since they were big on saving stuff, or somewhere in storage at a TV station or in another country.

It would be awesome to see this film with that scene, and the others that were cut.
