stage version

I was just wondering if anyone has seen the stage version that premiered a year or two ago, Never Gonna Dance. I read several things about it before the premiere, but I could not see it. I know it did not run for very long-a little over a year, I think. I was just looking for some first-hand information. If I had to guess, I think that I would have liked it, but hey, I love Astaire & Rogers. I was also curious to know if the vocal parts were available. If anyone had any more information, I would love to hear it. Thanks!

There was a 4 track CD put out. Probable you can get it on ebay.

I also love anything to do with Astaire & Rogers and I saw the stage version of Swing Time. It was basically the same story with some scene changes and, of course, no "Bojangles of Harlem" number. That was replaced by working in the dance contest theme using two actors of color. The leads (Noah Racey and Nancy Lemenager) were pleasant enough and good dancers, but not Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! I enjoyed the sets and costumes of the thirties, but the charisma was missing and I didn't think it was going to be a big hit. I think we even received the CD in the mail for free, or at least some of the tunes from the show on it. We bought a "Lucky" souvenir quarter key chain with the words, "Never Gonna Dance" encircling the coin. I don't remember that the leads' singing was was too terrific either.
