I just got the Ultimate Collector's Edition yesterday. I highly recommend the "Partners In Rhythm" documentary. I honestly had low expectation of the documentary, because of the featurettes that were included in the release of the first 5 DVD's. While I did like the featurettes, it was obvious they were "low budget." But the documentary is excellent, it has new interviews with Leslie Caron, Joan Leslie (!), Ava Astaire, John Mueller, Ginger Rogers' former assistant Roberta, Liza Minellli, and a few of Astaire's friends, with also some archive interviews with Ginger and Hermes Pan. The interviews were great, but I think the real bonus with this documentary are the home videos that are shown (albeit briefly) of shooting on-set. It shows Fred clowning with mark sandrich, and fred practicing "slap that bass" and also shows fred and ginger about to dance their "final" dance in "the story of vernon and irene castle," the missouri walz I think.
As far as the other extras, the press kit is interesting to glance over, it has mini articles which are written in the over-hyped style of the era, the CD is ok, but you probably own something similair already (Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers at RKO is the best collection I've ever found), and the pictures are actually a pretty great bonus, they are candids from on-set, some of which I had never seen.
The packaging itself is reallly beautifully done, I do recommend the set, I think the documentary makes it worth the cost.
