The Story of Louis Pasteur (1935)

Why do you think the film opens with such a dramatic scene of a doctor being murdered?

reply

When making a movie about a man and his microscope, I suppose the dramatic opening was to hook the audience. It also plays up the depth of emotions that Pasteur's work engendered in the medical community.
