News on a DVD?

I check the internet quite, often for this title..still nothing available. Anyone have news on a future DVD of this cute movie?

Nothing as of yet. You can catch it on cable, On Demand until 8/1/08.

I have watched this every night because I know I can't watch it anywhere else!

It's an unlikely candidate for a DVD since neither Janet Gaynor nor Robert Taylor have the "mega legend" of many of their contemporaries that MGM might think a DVD would be profitable. Of course, they might do a Robert Taylor boxed set at some point and if they wanted a wide variety of titles, not just his well-remembered blockbuster films like IVANHOE or his westerns like BILLY THE KID they might want to have a movie or two from his "romantic idol" era and certainly SMALL TOWN GIRL would be a nice choice.

Luckily we have our DVR version of Small Town Girl locked so we can watch it anytime. Wish it would come to DVD. It's a total fave of ours.

I regularly wonder why the owners won't release this on DVD. Is it the scene with "Tso Tso" they're worried about? It didn't seem particularly caricaturish or disrespectful, to me. Is it cost? It's such a cozy, little movie. I think it's a shame it won't be released.

It's the same with "Sunnyside Up", another movie starring Janet Gaynor. I wonder if there is a connection factor between the two, as far as distribution is concerned.
