Can anyone tell me if they know this about the kiss at the wedding of Magnolia and Gay -- why did Whale choose to focus in on the back of the minister's head, blocking out the view of the actual kiss? I'm sure some trivia buff out there somewhere knows the answer to this. :-)
shareI have no idea what the real reason was, but I wuld assume he thought it was more creative, or maybe he thought that looking at a couple kissing was inappropriate during a reprise of "Ol' Man River" (Paul Robeson sings part of it offscreen during this scene).
Since they kiss twice in the "You Are Love" scene (in which they get engaged), maybe he thought a third kiss would be redundant.
