Is this ever shown on TV?

If I understand correctly, this movie hasn't had an official DVD release yet. I'm wondering where all the folks who post here have seen the film.

Does TCM show it from time to time? Maybe AMC showed it in its (commercial-free) heyday years ago?

I've been fortunate enough to see this movie a few times on the Silver Screen and it's fast becoming one of my favorite films. Everyone should see Paul Robeson singing "Old Man River" at least once.

TCM just showed it a couple of days ago. First time I saw this version.

A Marine's Daughter! USA!!

I saw it several years ago. It might have been on a PBS station.

I first saw it on a big screen at a summer film festival back in 1981, but TCM shows it every once in a while. Showtime was the first to show it on cable, in 1983, then it went to PBS, then to TNT when TNT was still a good channel, and finally to TCM.

I also saw a mint copy of James Whale's "Show Boat" on the Chicago PBS affiliate, WTTW, some years ago, and will keep an eye on future showings on cable TV.

Was on TCM a few days ago Where I DVR the movie. Was a great way to spend a Sunday night watching with my Mom.

TCM is showing it again this Friday night, 2 am.

Run quite often on TCM- they just ran it on 8/20/13 for an all-day tribute to the films of Hattie McDaniel. Go to their website and it'll give future broadcasts, if any.
