chinatown

it's interesting to look at Chinatown in the 30's,, as having been in the 2 nd largest Chinatown in the U.S. outside of NYC. in the 90's I can personally attest to how wonderful and stunning Chinatown in San Francisco really is..

are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite

I've been watching this and it is a surprisingly good serial. Herman Brix would have made a great Doc Savage. Lugosi is great. There is a nice progression in the story as opposed to many serials that seem to just circle the same locations and repetitious plot elements so that they are basically chapter 1, a blur of interchangeable chapters and a final chapter.
What this serial does not have is San Francisco's Chinatown. The street set used is nice and there are a lot of Chinese actors employed, mostly in decent roles, but it in no way resembles San Francisco.
