Romeo and Juliet in the beginning. Tosca at the end.

I don't know much about operas but it seems to me that these 2 operas were likely chosen quite deliberately for this particular movie. Would anyone care to comment on this?

I did't see the beginning of this movie. But the final Tosca is brought in as a metaphor for what happened to her brother. The story is not similar. In Tosca, there is no love between the man representing "force", Scarpia and the woman. He was infatuated with Tosca but she loved Mario. In the end she is betrayed, and Mario is shot, but she knew it would only be a fake shooting. It was not. In Tosca opera, Tosca also kills Scarpia in a hot moment between the two before Mario's death.
I told you Tosca's story, to show the differences; but the final killing I consider, that signifies her brother's death. That's why she had problems with the final scene.
But, I cringe on the ending...why did Bruce had to find her...maybe he just loved her too much, but I don't think so.
