Back Projection Photoraphy

I'm not going to say that I didn't enjoy the film otherwise, but the use of back projection in several scenes was among the worst I remember seeing in a long time for a film with an "A" budget. The scenes involving the singing Mounties were particularly pathetic, as were a couple with Eddy and MacDonald. This was produced by MGM after all, who wasn't known for shoddy production.

The rear projection in the canoe scene wouldn't have bother me as much if Eddy had been paddling on alternating sides, rather than only on the right side.

In real life, wouldn't that just turn the canoe in circles?
