The strangest thing in this movie?

Though a remake of another film, "Metcalf" may have been a real person's name the film references, and since the first film was done precode, and this one post code, that could be why the audio was lowered in that scene.

Hmmm...

It's clear that each occurrence of the name has been overdubbed--pretty crudely--throughout.

But all of the newspaper headlines with the character's name in them at the end (and I think the end credits) use the name "Moett". I wonder if they made (or were forced to make) the change at some point in deference to the Moett champagne brand?
