Watching it now (12/3/2015)

I am watching The Prisoner of Shark Island now on the Fox Movie Channel.

It is a true classic of the 1930s. It's historically innacurate in that Dr. Mudd definitely knew John Wilkes Booth, and was even involved in Booth's earlier plot to kidnap President Lincoln. Other than that, it is really fine entertainment. The story of Dr. Mudd's imprisonment and subsequent heroic actions during a horrible epidemic, is pretty accurate.
