What did you rate 'Poppy' (1936)?

W.C. Fields's comedy blends with an engaging melodramatic plot which has him playing a carnival barker with a daughter who is coming of age. Rochelle Hudson and Richard Cromwell are good as the juvenile leads, but of course this is Fields's movie all the way. Fields performed this material first on Broadway then in a 1925 silent movie before making this film.

I rated this an 8 (one star higher than the current IMDb rating). What did you rate this film? And what do you think of it?

I don't rate films but will say I loved this.

The comedy bits are very funny. The rest of it is flat as a pancake. 6 out of 10.
