I was really impressed with that tap dancing number, especially seeing Alice Faye and Jack Haley doing it. I had no idea that Alice was a tap dancer..i don't recall seeing her ever doing a tap dance number in any movie since, not that I saw ALL of them, but the few musicals that i did see. Though some of the steps were monotonous, the number was pretty long for a movie of that kind, and enjoyable nevertheless..
shareI saw this movie for the first time the the other day; I have seen an abbreviated clip of this scene over the years and YES what a great dance routine! I can't believe they only made this one film appearance together. One of the best dance numbers of all time, really.

Perhaps the most technically difficult routine Shirley ever did. She wrote that Haley had considerable trouble with it.
