Slim Thompson = James Thompson?

James Thompson plays a train porter in the 1936 movie Rhythm on the Range, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028178/, during 39:00-40:00 (2003 Universal DVD), bringing Martha Raye and Bob Burns together. He looks and sounds like Slim Thompson during 56:20-57:00 (2005 Warner DVD). Each scene includes the actor's left profile, and the left ear's opening has the same unusual shape. If he is the same actor, then that could help to explain why each actor has so few film credits. There is also a page on Find a Grave, http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin//fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=113199347, for James Edward "Slim" Thompson (1912-1960), but no photo or mention of Broadway and Hollywood roles that I see. I also posted on the Rhythm on the Range message board, so maybe someone will let us know more while both movies are around.
