I have a few questions. I didn't seem to get some stuff. Maybe it was my jet lag or something? They are quite stupid and simple. I hope you guys can help.

When Gray finds and sees Godfrey, his old friend, he comes to him. He doesn't know yet that he is the butler and that he's telling people that his name is Smith instead of Parks. Why does Gray tell people that Godfrey is married with 5 children since Godfrey is undercover and Gray doesn't know that yet therefore Gray is not lying for him? So, someone please explain?

Secondly, why do the hobos move? Where do they move? Since at that time, Godfrey is still a butler and doesn't start the project yet since he doesn't have any money yet. Gray doesn't give the 5000 dollars until the end? So?

Please help. Thank you for your time and help.

Gray and Godfrey have a sort of love/hate relationship and I thought he just said Godfrey had 5 children to be funny. Grey does realize that Godfrey is undercover when he says his name is Smith instead of Parke, though he doesn't explain to him when at the party because that would break his cover.
There's a dump by the river, each time it gets filled in some of the hobos have to move because where they've set up their shacks is where the trash is going.
If you remember, Cornelia tries to frame Godfrey for taking her pearls by putting them under his bed. He takes those pearls and invests them into his project and he also gets some money from Grey beforehand. They discuss all this when they go for lunch on Godfrey's off-Thursday.
