I just love this film!

Until today, I had actually never seen this film. I'm ashamed to admit that I saw that Sandler version first.

Mr. Smith Goes To Washington has always been a favorite of mine and so has Frank Capra. So, I don't know why I kept putting this one off. All I can say is that this is indeed in the same league as Mr. Smith and anyone on the fence should see it immediately.

Jean Arthur and Gary Cooper are simply wonderful.

Yes, it's a great film. One which too much isn't said about these days. It did mark a change in the roles Gary Cooper played. And a lot of people who watch it, even today, do fall in love with it. I think a film like this needs more exposure. Then again, I think most of them do from this wonderful era of American cinema.

This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

It's actually better than MR SMITH, which on viewing seems like a weak retread of the same themes and characters.
