Why is this incorrectly cited as the last time Chaplin played the Tramp?

Everyone on IMDb, including the staff from what I gather, is always saying Modern Times is the last time Charlie Chaplin portrayed the Little Tramp, a character he'd been playing for 22 years at the time this was released.

That's not even close to accurate! The last time he played the Tramp was The Great Dictator. It is clearly the intention of the filmmaker, he wears the same clothes and has the same personality. It doesn't matter if he finally has a name in that movie or talks, he's still the Tramp. IMDb even has it wrong in their character page, saying the Tramp wasn't in The Great Dictator at all and listing the person he played in that film under a completely different character page. Why is this such a heavy misconception that is blatantly, obviously wrong?
