Danielle Darrieux is a breathtaking Marie Vetsera. So beautiful, young, and innocent when she is first seen, her demeanor is even more strking in the opera box scene that shortly follows her first encounter with Rudolf. Ms. Darrieux made me think of a perfect white rose bud, that symbol of innocence. Perfectly formed but unaware of her own perfection.
