Get This Out on DVD

I have no idea what the hold up is on this, but it really should be on DVD. Randolph Scott? Great American adventure actor, classic American film, yet still no new issue. Go figure. I guess the latest mind-numbing TV series compilation is more important. Heck, even the 1920 version and the serial versions of the 30's and 50's are out. Criminy.

I certainly second the motion. Please release this classic on DVD. It's the best rendition of the "Last of the Mohicans" and Randolph Scott is an American film icon.

Get the VHS and transfer to DVD. It's fuzzy and the frame jumps around a bit, but for now the best bet. Though not as well known today, Randolph Scott was a solid actor that commanded the screen no matter what the role. His westerns are always on TCM so you may luck out and it will show up there for you to DVR. I have the laserdisc and it's a step up from tape although comparing the two I'd swear they sourced the laserdisc for the VHS. This isn't unheard of, Remo Williams, Spaceballs and Chasing Amy are on record as being taken from laserdisc.

Anyway I digress. I wholeheartedly hope there will be a Randolph Scott Collection as they have been doing with other popular stars as his DVDs are scattered among different companies and won't be found at your local Best Buy. He more than deserves a fair shake.

An update: This will be released on Oct. 13! Go here: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Mohicans-Special-Randolph-Scott/dp/B001E487 JW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1223080851&sr=1-5
No detals but it's supposed to be a special edition in a simulated bound novel case.
