Not that bad

For the past six months or so I've been trying to watch every film that has won the best picture oscar (it's taken awhile due to certain films not being available and finding the time to watch these often 3 hour movies). I was really dreading this movie because I had constantly read how it was boring, the characters werent interesting to watch, and that the 3 hour running time was too long.

I honestly enjoyed it. I do think some of the scenes could have been shortened and that a few of the musical numbers could be cut, but I wasnt thinking "JUST END ALREADY!" like I did with some other long best picture winners (like Gandhi and the English Patient). I think because I recently took a theater appreciation class in which I learned about Ziegfeld that the subject matter interested me more. But still, I can't find too much to complain about the movie other than the need to edit out about 30 minutes.
