"Pretty girl" number... amazing

"Pretty girl is like a melody" is one of the most wonderful, amazing, awe inspiring, beautiful things I've ever seen and heard. It was ethereal. I really felt like I was entering heaven watching it and hearing it. The slowly revolving wedding cake then the slow ascend up the stairs, the different guys and girls dancing in different costumes, both the music and the singing voices were ethereal, the beautiful girls in white on the top part of the stairs sitting so still smiling in such bliss, the beautiful princess (Virginia Bruce) on top. It was all like heaven. I VERY rarely have ever viewed anything else that I would describe like this. This was the first vision and music I ever experienced that I seriously thought was heaven.

I know that there will be people that will have negative reactions to what I've written here but I just don't care. I was just a little curious if anyone else out there experienced the "Pretty girl is like a melody" in the same way I did.

I liked it myself.

I agree...pretty incredible! I've seen the movie several times on TCM and I always pay close attention to this scene now to try to see new things that I've missed before. Watching today, I noticed about halfway through (but before the camera starts ascending), there are about three ladies dressed the same and each holding some sort of stringed instruments with a mirrored front. As the camera moves across them, in one of the mirrors, just for a second, is a reflection of what looks like a sign that would have been on the set as they were filming. I don't have a DVR or the DVD or I would have gone back to freeze-frame. I'm curious!
