Was this the first courtroom drama?

I don't recall ever having watched an older movie than this one that could be described as (or having significant elements of) courtroom drama.
Is this the first movie of the sort?

reply

Surely not. Evelyn Prentice (1934) is a courtroom drama and I'm sure there are others, including silents that are even earlier.

Evelyn Prentice looks interesting, is it any good?

It's worth a look. The courtroom theatrics at the end are unrealistic, but then they are in Fury as well. The same story was remade in 1939 as Stronger than Desire, with Virginia Bruce and Walter Pidgeon. EP is preferable because of the William Powell/Myrna Loy team, but it's sort of fun to watch the two movies with the same story made only five years apart.
