Amazing film

It's really impressive that this was made in 1936. Not that good films was'nt made back then, but the editing, dialogue, cinematography and plot in "Fury" is ahead of its time and is still very much better than most crime/thrillers made today.

I especially liked the dialogue. That was just great.

agree, i saw this as a kid on tv in the 50s

I don´t see anything remarkably different about the handling of these technical elements in Fury that would radically set it apart from your usual Hollywood films of the time. Except that it´s probably somewhat more refined - but considering it´s directed by Lang, that´s to be expected.

I do think it was pretty remarkable and hard-hitting for a 1936 film. Not so much now, of course, but I bet it really packed a jolt then, at least in subject matter. Its a very harsh portrait, for one thing, of small town America - really of all humanity, when you think of it. Also, its so much more typical of a Warner Brothers film like "I Am A Fugitive From A Chain Gang" - I was really surprised to see it was a production by MGM!

MGM didn't like it, and hardly did anything at all to promote it.
