I am waiting for a HD Blu-ray since years but it seems that no company is interested in restoring and releasing the films in high def.
The DVDs also weren't uncensored because the companies claimed that some shots and scenes are lost, I think a reconstruction of the full original version would be possible.

These Saturday afternoon serials really weren't of high enough cinematic quality in the first place to benefit from a high-definition restoration and presentation. I think DVD is just fine.
