Similarity to the Thin Man series

This definitely had the flavor of the famous William Powell/Myrna Loy movies and it's quite possible this movie helped suggest SHADOW OF THE THIN MAN which had a strikingly similar plot.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.
