Will be shown on Svengoolie on 10/22/2016

Dracula's Daughter (1936) will be shown on Svengoolie on MeTV on Saturday night, 22 October 2016, at 9PM Central Time. 

This is a real classic and is my favorite vampire movie. 

Gloria Holden is perfect for her role. She really looks the part of a female vampire. 

I really like Sandor (Irving Pichel), the man who parts his hair with a meat cleaver. 

The movie's most famous scene occurs when Countess Marya (Gloria Holden) puts the bite on the young and beautiful Lili (Nan Grey). This is due to its obvious lesbian overtones. 

That is a very risqué scene, considering when this movie was made. 

Another great vampire movie from Sven. Be sure to have plenty of  and  on hand for this one!

I just spotted that it was going to be on. Not sure I've ever seen it. Svengoolie! Perfect. Will have the DVR set.

Great! Can't wait!???

Yawn! Another movie that's been on Svengoolie many times before. Come on Sven, give us something you haven't shown before. Remember the spike in ratings you got when you aired "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" this last spring? Hint, hint!

reply

Oh really? That's interesting and surprising. No sarcasm intended. Most Sven fans tend for the older classics, like Dracula's Daughter. Maybe the spike in ratings was because viewers were expecting the Brooke Shields version of The Boy Who Cried Werewolf? Have you posted on Sven's blog? If not, you should try. He pays attention to viewer comments. Just saying. 

Sven's reference to Sandor: "her Shemp Howard-haired assistant."

This is the movie that made me realize Paul Drake's mom was a very attractive lady at one time.

I have nothing to say... I've been such an arse already.

Bill-16: Sometimes I find Paul Drake a more interesting character than Perry Mason, because I know who his real-life mom is.

jamesbwill: I've heard the Shemp Howard reference before. Sandor parting his hair with a meat cleaver is new to me and even funnier. 
