Georgie Could Dance!

George Burns could really dance! At the end of the show, he and Gracie are performing with another actor in white wigs to what sounds like a piece by Mozart that transforms into a jive number. Watch George's feet. That guy had rhythm!

In the very first film in which they appeared, a short called Lambchops (1929), George and Gracie perform a lovely song-and-dance number. During the sequence they exchange jokes, George croons, and they both dance very well.

If you thought he could dance here, keep your eyes peeled for the next year's flick "A Damsel in Distress." George and Gracie not only danced, they held their own next to Fred Astaire (looks like the full "Stiff Upper Lip" sequence is currently on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnOcpyG7w2k). It's a shame that the movie industry never really figured out what to do with Burns & Allen.
