8?

One of the reasons I streamed this film was it's high rating. Some of the greatest films of all time average 7.5 to 7.8, so by those standards this must be a masterpiece I missed along the way. For me it was mediocre, at times awkward and with gargantuan musical numbers that were practically static. Now i know some people will like it, but an 8? I'm used to the IMDb having inflated scores for comic book films but who's doing this for Marion Davies? Maybe the ghost of William Randolph Hearst?
