Thorougly underrated

I'm something of a connoisseur of musicals from the 1920s to 1960s so I'm pretty picky. I loved every minute of this film. Really cute, lighthearted storyline supported by gorgeous songs and very entertaining dance numbers. Why it's not more popular and well-known is a mystery to me.

I totally agree with you. Have you seen any other Eleanor Powell movies ?

"Darling ELLIE and FRANCES were the apples of my eye - Now they are in heaven I want to CRY"

Yes! I've seen Lady Be Good, Broadway Melody of 1936 and Duchess of Idaho (where she plays herself in a smashing solo dance number). I want to see more of her. She's a doll. She spins like no one else can!

If you haven't seen them, I would also recommend "Rosalie" with Nelson Eddy and "Broadway Melody of 1940" with Fred Astaire and George Murphy. Just like "Born to Dance", these films both boast a popular Cole Porter score and some of the most fantastic dancing of the era.

It's a wonderful movie! I've loved it for about seven years now.
