amazing

This film had the most amazing dolly shots I have ever seen in a film. It changed the way I looked at cinema. This film, in itself, is like Ophuls's entire oeuvre. I saw this in Japan and couldn't understand a single word said, but knew that this was a whole new way of looking at film. This needs to be released with subtitles. This is Naruse's most revolutionary film. Even if the script turns out to be utterly hackneyed, the way this was shot opens up a whole new vista in film. If you haven't seen "Wife, Be Like a Rose", you haven't seen Naruse.

Without the sensuality of Ophüls.

(This makes no sense, as the previous post, to which I replied, was self-deleted.)

Hear lunatics and liars
