Implausible movie

There were too many implausibilities in this movie for my liking. I can't buy that men during the depths of the great depression would risk their jobs and their lives to have a drink while working on a bridge.

I can see a gangster doing his 'protection' number on a small shopkeeper, but on a project like the Golden Gate bridge? I don't think so. Was there no security, that could have kept Sharkey and his men from the jobsite? Sharkey should have been thrown off the bridge.

Hale should have armed himself at the first sign of trouble, and shot Sharkey, for bringing a knife to a gunfight.
