Ruby Keeler


Ruby Keeler is a lot better here than in "42nd Street" of a few years before. Her acting is better, and maybe even her dancing. Maybe she's not as bad as I thought.

I agree that her acting was better here - her voice wasn't thin and screechy as it was in the earlier WB films. Her dancing was better, but still labored and awkward. She and Powell did seem weary of yet another hokey plot, and they were clearly ready to move on to better roles.
