And most movies today for that matter. It is neither rudimentary in execution like Dracula, The Mummy and Bride Of Frankenstein are, nor is it a paper thin snoozefest like Grand Hotel or Letty Lynton. Not only that but it's better done and more interesting than films today. It's not slow at all, it's one great scene after the other, I have no idea how anyone can dislike it but apparently they do. I recommended it to a fellow film lover and he hated it, it also bombed on initial release and hasn't been rediscovered. Beats me.
