Ho Hum

This movie sure isn't worth talking about huh? The best comment I can make is, wow what a big deal it must have been back then for a woman to be caught in a man's apartment at night, apparently her reputation would be ruined and she called a slut, meanwhile the innocent secretary gets to spend days, weeks in jail on a murder charge, the ordeal of a court trial with capital punishment on the table, just so the vestal bride keeps her virtue intact, heaven forbid the public knowing the bride to be is no longer chaste, she would have to live a life of ruin (regardless that she's already now married, and you can bet well pounded). Actually I think doing some jail time wouldn't cause any harm to that secretary, only good - unless Broom Hilda got ahold of her in the shower.

Of all the Stanwyck movies I've seen I have to rank this one at the bottom, but it's not her fault, just a ho hum movie.

Two of my favorites Stanwyck & William can't do anything to salvage this bore. By the end I was hoping everybody would get locked up.

Not exactly. She didn't let the secretary rot because it would ruin her reputation. Basically, she is NOT a slut. Because of this, she would NOT be in his apartment at night. There would immediately be an investigation as to why she was there and they would discover they are married, which was the problem because it would show a conflict of interest on the part of her husband.
