Why I Like Color

There are just a few films I HAVE to see in color: the John Wayne Lone Star Films (1933 to 1935) Westerns. Color really dresses them up. I have 5 of the 18 in color! (Thank You Legend Films!) also "It's a Wonderful Life" (Sorry! I know I'm bad) and "Scrooge" -"a Christmas Carol". Why would you want to see Christmas in black and white? Dickens London, Scrooge, Marley in black and white? No thank you. If I'm given a choice, I'll choose color everytime. Watch what you like, but for me; give me color! John

What does their voting preferences have to do with anything? They were just saying that they preferred color versions of some films, such as It's A Wonderful Life. I prefer it in black and white, but that doesn't make me a Democrat.

Truck or Squad. What side are you on?

This is an idiotic statement. One would assume, going by stereotypes, Republicans would much rather prefer the "unchanged" black and white version. I'm a Democrat, and I can take the colorizing as long as it's done well, otherwise I'll stick with the black and white. For this film, I'm a little annoyed that the color version is the edited version at 63 minutes and not the full version at 78 minutes.

I saw the colorized version of Casablance and the original King Kong. It felt dirty and blasphemous some how.

The first time I saw Star Trek on a color TV, it was the episode were the 2 aliens were black on one side and white on the other, so the technology of the time was wasted on me.

If a movie is made in Black and White, I usually prefer to see it in black and white. The outdated colorization on films like It's a Wonderful Life just somehow make the film look like a lesser quality film. The only colorization I like is the colorization that CBS did with the I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Dick Van Dyke Show Christmas Specials.
