Jean Arthur's character (Maria Theresa O'Reilly)

One of the reviews mentioned Jean Arthur's character being Irish and her brother looking like he's Italian. Jean Arthur mentioned that her father was father was Irish and her mother was Italian. This happens just before finding out that Jeff Crane is a prison escapee. That doesn't explain the different last names however...

Do you EVER contribute to a conversation or do you just post idiotic nonsense for older films?

Hey there. I believe that your post here is directed at "The Dying Flutchman," who always posted snarky and idiotic comments. Just like to let you know that "Flutchman" has actually died in real life, so no one will be tormented by his stupidity any longer.

I hope he rests in peace, but I -- for one -- will not miss him!

Considering Sonny had been a criminal for some time, I'm guessing that he changed his surname so that his parents could not locate him. Theresa mentioned that she hadn't heard from her brother in years indicating that Sonny must of left home long before the events of the film.
