The links...

I find it amusing that in every Gary Cooper movie is another actor who starred in one of his previous or upcoming movies.

Check:

Pride of the Yankees - David Holt (Billy at 17)
Beau Geste - David Holt (Agustus at age 12)

Sergeant York - Dickie Moore (George York)
Peter Ibbetson - Dickie Moore (Gogo at age 8)

Sergeant York - Walter Brennan
Meet John Doe - Walter Brennan
Pride of the Yankees - Walter Brennan
Task Force - Walter Brennan
The Westerner - Walter Brennan
The Cowboy and the Lady - Walter Brennan
The Wedding Night - Walter Brennan

And the list goes on...

I know that's why they call them "Actors" 'cause they play in many different roles but I just thought it was kinda cool :)

Gary Cooper...he was catnip to the ladies.

It mostly had to do with what movie studio an actor/actress had a contract with/belonged to. Unlike today, the movie studios basically owned the actors and dictacted what movie they could or would do. Some did gain power enough to sway it some, but most had to do the movie/part the studios told them to do.

Gary Cooper really did not want to do 'The Westerner', because it really starred Walter Brennan. But, was talked into it (basically had to), but it lead to some of his better parts (or at least one part that won the oscar, Sergeant York).
