Question about UK DVD

My copy arrived this morning but I was very puzzled to see that the special features (the 9 minute documentary 'Pitcairn Island Today' and footage showing Irving Thalberg accepting the BestPicture Oscar) were silent! The only other feature was the trailer and that had sound. Is it just my DVD that has this problem or are they all like this?

i think they're all like that, on the dvd from my library the features are silent too.
