Its probably just the film quality but i found it hilarious their actions were delayed and overemphasized

Well, I disagree. I find very little is unintentionally hilarious about this film.

I guess Charles Laughton may have chewed the scenery at times, but Gable always gives a very slick performance.

It was a different era of cinema. This was the typical style of acting during the time. You probably haven't seen enough older films to understand and appreciate it.

This movie was great, I loved the acting of all of them, Gable deserved an Oscar for this movie, too bad he didn't get it. And as for Laughton, I think he was great too, he made me want to jump into the Bounty and smack him in his fat face, and yet he got my sympathy when he led the men to Timor.

Great movie, whoever says it isn't obviously doesn't know about classic movies.
