When Gogol is disguised as Rollo he reminded me of Soames/Torque from Nightwing. Yeah, it's totally irrelevant but the design looked similar enough that the comic character might have been inspired by the film. Not the greatest example but it's the best I could find:

Yep, I agree that the Torque (Dudley Soames) character was definitely influenced by Rollo in this movie.

Except Dr. Gogol is way more sinister.
