George Brent is Jerk

I don't know why Bette Davis' character even want to marry this guy - she could do much better. He's dismissive of her talent and then sets her up for failure constantly. He goes out of his way to make her look stupid. He's no catch, even if he does realize her talents in the end. Too little too late.
