the 1991 remake but this is OK. This version is inevitably more stilted and starchy but the cast is interesting.
Normally I appeciate black and films but the newer version benefits from the sensuous cinematography that gives warmth and rich colour and underlines the characters changes as they adapt to and adopt the location.

Far too early for me - I caught it on iPlayer. In fact I watched it again before the BBC took it down and enjoyed it more the second time.

Since I've read this version of Enchanted April had 12 minutes cut after its preview before general release, its no surprise the narrative was tedious and lacking sufficient plot. A larger expansion from its original source would have benefited this version of Enchanted April. The only positive for me was Jane Baxter, she was very attractive in her youth.
