The name "Uriah" is certainly Old Testament-ish, but its wearers need not be Jewish. It became fashionable from the early history of the Protestant Reformation and onward for Protestants to christen their children with names like Jeremiah, Hezekiah, Joshua, etc. I don't think Uriah Heap was a Jew, it doesn't seem likely he would have had a place in the society of his day even as an employee, later partner in the firm he worked for if he'd been Jewish; besides, his surname certainly seems European in origin.
Whatever you do, DO NOT read this sig--ACKKK!!! TOO LATE!!!
