The MGM lion roars to the music

The music stops when the lion roars as if the roars are part of the music. It doesn't do that in BM of 1938, but I didn't notice if it does it in BM of 1929 or 1940.
Did MGM play around with music and the lion in any other movies? I don't see anything mentioned on the Leo the Lion Wickipedia page.
