John Carradine!

Just noticed John Carradine as one of the hunters in the hermit's shed scene. Gorgeous man with a gorgeous voice.

I see that in the trivia section that John Carradine turned down the role of the monster in this movie. Thanks for complimenting on my budgie picture on the Frankenstein board (Graveyard statue thread).

He didn't turn down the role of the monster in this movie as it was the sequel and the role was already Karloff's. He claims to have turned down the role when it was cast for the original 1931 Frankenstein movie.

It's important to note that this is a claim made by Carradine, which so far has not been substantiated by any other witnesses or documentation. He also claims to have been considered for the title role in the 1931 Dracula, which is an equally unsubstantiated claim (although he would later play the Count in other Universal movies).

Cool, I didn't know he was in this.

He was bitten by Dracula shortly after the events of this movie and turns up 9 years later in House of Frankenstein
